World Cycling Championships: Difficult access to the Kulturareal Mühle Tiefenbrunnen

The World Cycling Championships will take place in Zurich from September 21 - 29, 2024. The race routes for this run directly past the Mühle Tiefenbrunnen and will lead to restrictions on access. Streetcar and bus services will be affected, as will access by car.

How do I reach the Mühle Tiefenbrunnen during the World Cycling Championships?

  • The restrictions apply from September 21 - 29, 2024 from 05:00 - 19:00.

  • The Mühle remains constantly accessible on foot and by bike. 

  • There are no restrictions on rail services (S-Bahn). A train stops at Tiefenbrunnen station every 15 minutes. 

  • There will be cancellations on streetcar and bus services. We recommend checking the connections in the online timetable.

  • Access by car is not guaranteed due to road closures. Access by car is not recommended.

Race tracks

On foot / by bike

The race courses can be crossed by pedestrians and cyclists at various points (depending on the course of the race). Where the race routes are not closed off with barriers, the route may be crossed at your own discretion. This leaves the Mühle Tiefenbrunnen accessible on foot and by bike at all times. 

S-Bahn

Train services are not affected. The S16 and S6 will continue to stop at Tiefenbrunnen station. 

Streetcar

Streetcar services may be disrupted during the World Cycling Championships. It is advisable to check the online timetable regularly. 


From September 21 - 24: 

  • Lines 2 and 4: Normal service between Bellevue and Tiefenbrunnen.
  • Line 11: runs between Stadelhofen and Realp.
  • Forchbahn: no impairment. 


From September 25 - 29: 

  • Lines 2 and 4: Tram service on Seefeldstrasse is suspended. 
  • First bus: between Kreuzstrasse and Tiefenbrunnen station
  • Line 11: runs between Stadelhofen and Realp.
  • Forchbahn: no impairment. 

Bus

Bus services will be severely disrupted during the World Cycling Championships. It is advisable to check the online timetable regularly. 


From September 21 - 24: 

  • Bus 33: only from Triemli to Hegibach.
  • Line 77: only from Balgrist out of town.
  • Bus routes 910, 912 and 916: do not go into the city.

From September 25 - 29: 

  • Bus 33: only from Triemli to Fluntern.
  • Line 77: only from Balgrist out of town.
  • Bus routes 910, 912 and 916: do not go into the city.

Car

Access by car is not recommended. Access routes and detailed information


From September 21 - 24: 

The Mühle Tiefenbrunnen can be reached from the city center via Seefeldstrasse and from Zollikon via Dufourstrasse. Utoquai and Bellerivestrasse as well as (Zurich) Dufourstrasse are closed.

From September 25 - 29: 

The Mühle Tiefenbrunnen is completely encircled during the closing times (05.00 - 19.00). Access is only permitted on a very restricted basis. The roads are open again after the end of the race (19.00 - 05.00).

Race tracks

The race tracks are closed from 05:00 - 19:00.
 

Individual time trials will take place from September 21 - 24, 2024. The race route runs along Seestrasse in Zollikon via Bellerivstrasse and Utoquai towards Bellevue (finish). 

The road races will start from September 25 - 29, 2024. The race route runs along Zollikerstrasse out of town. Coming from Zollikon into the city via the Zolliker Rampe. Then via Bellerivstrasse and Utoquai in the direction of Bellevue (finish).
